Oh God

Everything around me is foreign - mainly the language. It's so hard to read anything - bank statements, letters, electricity bill - all in Norwegian. It does get quite frustrating. There's no English version of anything...so I have just ordered 2 books online to teach myself Norwegian. That way I can read all my documents without having to bug people. Imagine, I just did a bank transaction in a foreign language. Scary :)

1 Month in Oslo

Well, I've officially been here for a month. What can I say? "Time flies when you're having fun." Hehehe, I guess that is how I'd say it :)

It seems "Nytt innlegg" means "New Post" in Norwegian. I didn't know that. Thank you Blogger for converting my blogger dashboard into Norwegian. *grumble*

So I went shopping today :) It was quite fun - picked up a pair of jeans and 2 pairs of shoes. Yes, casual clothes for work rules ;) I also hung out with my colleagues last night for their Salary Day outing which happens once a month. It was fun. I had a coke and a caffe mocha and they had beer and wine. By the way, coffee here is divine...*contented sigh*

Oslo city is so beautiful. It looks so different from what I'm used to. Shopping is kind of fun - when you don't convert the price into Malaysian Ringgit. The cost of living in Malaysia is so much cheaper :(

Oh well. Have a great weekend guys (or what's left of it). I will write more eventually...

Snowy Thoughts

I'm sitting by the window now. It's snowing in Spring. My Norwegian friend thinks its rain and not snow. But the way the wind is blowing it, it looks more like snow to me. Well, let's just say I think its snow :) It's pretty!

Edit...

I was right. Norwegian friend lost ;) It's really snow, coz the ground is white.

Birthday

Well I turned 23 today, officially. I usually consider myself 1 year older the moment a new year starts. Not that I am eager to get old but I just think of 2006 as the year I was 22 and 2007 as the year I am 23.

I bought myself 5 novels for a birthday gift. I know, I wanted to buy clothes but for some reason I didn't really see anything drop dead gorgeous and the books were cheap - very worth it.

Oooh, I am the wizard when it comes to Indian Fish Curry. Hahahaha, somehow I have mastered it (Yeah, I'm modest..lol) and it tastes so good. Today is the second time I made it. Ate fish curry with naan bread. Yum. The fish I used was salmon ;) Hey you can't live in Norway and not buy salmon! I can't help it - does taste good ;)

I haven't been up to much otherwise...

Should do some programming for work though :) Ciao!

Impressive.

I always come across negative things said about Malaysia. This was refreshing...

Take a look :)
