Bought myself a gift :)

So I got a new laptop last Thursday. I also asked my Mom to buy me a Crumpler Sinking Barge because I have this dream to travel around with my laptop and camera...taking in the colourful sights and sounds Europe has to offer.

However, carrying around that backpack on a day to day basis to take my laptop everywhere - is not a very good idea. It's a bit too big, not chic and sexy and stuff ;)

So, I tagged along with Simon today. He got jealous of my MacBook and wanted to buy himself one as well. I wanted to see what the box and the insides looked like because my Dad did the purchase in Malaysia. So at the eplehuset (Norway's version of an Apple store) earlier, I fell in love. Nah, no hot guys around, but I fell in love with this bag:

It looks like this inside:

*Note: It's a girl thing - falling in love with bags and shoes. If you are male, you can skip over that point. You'll never understand it. *haughty look*

For a Cumpler bag, it was worth it. I'm becoming a Crumpler junkie, help :/

Indian Food in Oslo

I've been asked to tell where exactly I eat Indian food in Oslo. If I am not mistaken, it is on Motzfeldts Gate 7. opposite Tamil Music Centre. It's called "Palmyra". Hope you guys find it :)

Lots of New Stuff

So my mom and sister left this afternoon to go back to London for my sister's graduation in Reading. I was treated to an exclusive first-glance of the beautiful photographs they took of Paris. Of course, I also received my new laptop (a MacBook, yay!) and a gorgeous Crumpler Sinking Barge bag that can fit in not only my laptop but also has a small pouch on the front for my SLR camera and a spare lens (there's a sign that I need another lens).

Going around Oslo with mom and sis was heaps of fun. We visited the people musem (Folkemuseum), took a quick fjord cruise (it was so relaxing) and did quite a bit of shopping. I picked up some tops and a pair of classy heels from Zara, as well as a new wallet from Esprit (they were on sale, very cheap!). I also arranged a dinner with my family and ten of my favorite people in Oslo at a really nice Thai restaurant. The food and company was just perfect ;)

All in all, it was an awesome quick vacation - to take a break from the daily grind of work and spend some time with family as well as acquaint them to my life in Oslo.

Change and More Change

The Baghavad Gita (Hindu equivalent of The Quran) says "The only constant in the universe is Change". No I am not turning all religious on you guys, I just remembered the saying. I'm anything but religious - I practice whatever my parents and grandparents have taught me, but I am not a big fan of passing it on to my friends, etc. Religion is something from within.

But I digress. My original point is that there is so much happening these days. It feels so strange to sit here and watch things change. In most cases, there is not much I can do. In other cases, it feels like I am swimming against the current just to get my voice heard. I guess this is real life after all - this is what university does not prepare us for.

Sitting in the middle
of a whirlpool of change
yet I still remain
...unchanged.

Disappointed

Sometimes when things don't go my way, I feel really crushed and disappointed. It's not that I am not grateful for the way life has turned out for me the past year and a half - it's just a case of expectations versus reality. You think somebody is so capable and trustworthy but then something bad happens and you lose so much of respect and trust in that person ... even the friendship cannot be salvaged. I know a lot of this is part of growing up - and part of the real world which we are so protected from as kids. But it is still so difficult to accept.

So much has happened in so little time. Some days I wish things would stop changing for awhile. Just a little while...

Lack of Posts

I haven't blogged much :) I know. There's just so much going on here that every day I come home feeling so tired and drained. I work in 2 different departments at work now so I have 2 offices that I share with 2 different people. So, I do have to run from one office to the other quite often - even though I have fixed days which office I work at; can be tiring sometimes.

11 days till my Mom visits; 11 days till I get my new laptop ;)
